Abstract

The researches that have been carried out in connection with privatization in Iran have examined only the dimensions of economic growth and prosperity and the improvement of economic activities, and other dimensions regarding the advantages and disadvantages, or in other words the positive or negative effects that Privatization affects the environment, it has not been addressed much. Considering the important role of privatization on the ecological intensity of well-Being, this study has tried to investigate the effect of privatization on the ecological intensity of well Being in Iran during 1991-2022. For this purpose, the results obtained from STR model estimates while confirming the effect of privatization in the form of a two-regime structure with a threshold value of 11.58 have had a positive and significant effect on the ecological intensity of well-Being in such a way that the intensity of this positive effect by crossing the level The threshold for entering the second regime increases. The transition speed of the dependent variable is equal to 9.17 and the transition from regime 1 to regime 2 will happen relatively quickly. The findings of this research show that privatization has a positive effect on the index of ecological intensity of well-Being, in fact, privatization not only does not improve the index of ecological intensity of well-Being, but also causes it to increase and cause more destruction of the environment. Also, the results of the research model have shown that economic growth has a non-linear effect on ecological intensity of well-Being in Iran, and the research results indicate the existence of a positive relationship between economic growth and ecological intensity of well-Being.
